Voices from the Frontline

Women make their own history, but they do not make it just as they please; they do not make
under circumstances chosen by themselves, but under circumstances directly encountered,
given and transmitted from the past

Karl Marx

Voices from the Frontline is the first part of a large scale digital image installation,
consisting of portraits of women - created to celebrate International Women's Day. This first iteration
coincides with a unique event in Cathal Brugha Barracks, Rathmines, Dublin, Ireland to be held on the
8th March 2017 where over forty images will cover the entire venue's walls.

The artist draws from her ongoing interest in early 20th century history of Women's Suffrage Movement
