Dimensions: Overall Wall Mounted Sculpture/Drawing Dimensions: H 160 x W 65 x D 2 cms
An innovative biography inspired by archival research into some historical and imagined moments in the life of Johanna Mary “Hanna” Sheehy Skeffington (née Johanna Mary Sheehy) (24 May 1877–20 April 1946). A suffragette and Irish nationalist. The artwork was specifically designed to hang in one of the interior 19th Century holding cells at Cathal Brugha Barracks Dublin that once held Hanna’s husband Francis S. Skeffington during his incarceration and death there following The Easter Rising in 1916, and was part of a larger multi media installation titled ‘Echoes of Hanna’.
